Renée Floyd Myers is a communications consultant specializing in print and electronic design, branding, and messaging for nonprofit organizations and social justice activists. Renee was one of LEAD’s original staff members and played a key role in its establishment as a 501(c)(3) public charity.
Prior to joining LEAD she served for 12 years as Operations & Marketing Director for the Southern Center for Human Rights (SCHR), a public interest law firm based in Atlanta, GA, whose mission is to fight for a world free from mass incarceration, the death penalty, the criminalization of poverty, and racial injustice by employing class action lawsuits and individual representation to challenge unconstitutional and unconscionable practices within the criminal justice system. Her role at SCHR included overseeing the law firms information and communication systems, budget development and management, and financial reporting to funders. She also acted as creative director for all print and electronic media, was responsible for graphic design and messaging.
She began her career in social justice as Director of Finance & Communications for the Center for Law & Renewal, a program of the Fetzer Institute, a public operating foundation in southwest Michigan.
Renee holds a Master of Public Administration degree in Nonprofit Leadership and Administration from Western Michigan University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Michigan State University. She earned a Certificate of Fundraising Management from the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University and has completed the Art of Leadership and Advanced Art of Leadership programs at the Rockwood Leadership Institute in Oakland, CA. She currently resides in north central Florida.
